Meet The Team



Angeline Martin

Senior Partner


Born and brought up in Wadebridge, Angeline studied law at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth and her LPC at the College of Law in Chester. On completing her studies, she returned to Wadebridge where she qualified in 2001. She became a partner in 2008. She is Head of the Property Department at Macmillans and specialises in all aspects of domestic, commercial and agricultural property law. Angeline lives in Wadebridge with a small menagerie of animals including two small children and a husband. In her spare time she can be found in the local countryside either riding or running or walking her dogs.

Lauren Gillespie




Lauren Gillespie is a Solicitor specialising in all areas of Private Client work, including Tax Planning, Trusts, Wills, Probate, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection work. She is a member of Cornwall Law Society and a full member of Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE). Lauren studied law in London and at the College of Law in Guildford, qualifying in 1999. She returned to the Westcountry in 2000 and joined Macmillans in 2014, having previously worked for the firm as a locum. She became a Partner on the 1st October 2014. Lauren has practiced in the local area for 15 years and is very happy to be back with the team at Macmillans. She is the current treasurer of St Columb Chamber of Commerce. In her spare time, Lauren enjoys outdoor pursuits, surf life-saving and skiing.



Julie Barr




Julie joined the firm in 2015 with a wealth of experience in all areas of family and children matters and civil litigation. She was educated at Cardiff and Bristol University and completed her LPC at Bristol University.  She is a member of Resolution (a national organisation of family lawyers committed to non- confrontational divorce, separation and other family disputes) as an accredited specialist in financial provision and children.  In her spare time Julie enjoys spending time with her family.



Terri Hooper




Terri Hooper joined the firm in 2001 whilst a student at Plymouth University, working initially as a legal secretary whilst completing her Law degree. She completed her LPC at Exeter University and was admitted as a solicitor in 2007. She specialises in residential and commercial conveyancing. Outside work, her interests are reading, the beach and travel.



Laura Martin




“Laura joined the firm in 2017 and is a Solicitor specialising in all areas of Private Client work.  Born and brought up in Wadebridge Laura studied history at the University of Exeter before completing the Graduate Diploma in Law also at Exeter and then the Legal Practice Course at Plymouth.  Laura returned to Cornwall and qualified as a Solicitor in 2012.  Laura loves all animals and spends her spare time with her animals and her family.”

New intestacy rules from 1 October 2014

New intestacy rules from 1 October 2014 mean it’s a good time to make a Will.
The Inheritance and Trustees Powers Act 2014 (ITPA 2014) which comes into effect on October 1st this year will change the way in which the assets of people who die without Wills are shared between their relatives.

We are pleased to confirm that we will be participating in the National Free Wills Network scheme this year in November 2014. Please contact us if you require any further information.
